That RUFZ is like seacret, hi, you never know what gonna hapend....
last 2 weeks I tried it at home few times per a day but scores was always
about 50k, I was very nervous and I thinked that will never get more than
55k in my life :(
but today I come in the club and in first attempt make 61k wooow
and finaly now again over 66k, it's just 4th time to beat 60k, but
it is new high score - YES
3th weekend it will be 9A QRQ championship....and I hope that will keep this
good form in rufz
unfortunatly I'm now in senior class and it will be hard to take place in 9A
team.... 2EU, 2EE are much beter than me ;(( but I will do my best and hope
to take place in the team....and hope then to see with You, Fabian,
Mark and other guys/girls in Romania next year

I was on hollydays for abt 3 weeks, and I had my computer with me.
Every day I trained CW with this program, and now my score is better.
But where are the french OM's ?

I am sending you my latest score. After weeks of training I have finally
managed to set this new record. I have also managed max speed
of 357 char/min so there are hopes for the future.
I have looked at other CW software during the weekend, and found nothing
comparable with RUFZ!

During last years "Double Trouble" DXpedition to T31, ZK3 and KH8 I
experienced how much RUFZ helped
me in managing CW puilups. The training was specially usefull for receiving
long JA calls,
which are only sent once. Running JA puilup from the Pacific is almost like
running RUFZ software, hi hi.
Now I am practicing for the CQ WPX Contest.
Once again RUFZ is a perfect CW training software both for running puilups
and contest. Just get rid
of some HP, 5W and A35 calls. But they help obtaining the good scores by the
way, hi.
Will continue to run RUFZ, wonder how far I can go.

Here is my last RUFZ score. A small step of 100 points ahead, that' s
not a lot but I resume the training after a few months of non activity
with the " cw sport ". So, after that time, I am happy I have reached
a speed of 347 .... All hope is not lost (hi).

Dear matt, I have two questions asking to you: first is if RUFZ3.1 does run
under windows98. I'm upgrading my computer support and in a week or two
I'll get a newer and speder Pentium. I'll be sad if rRUFZ cant works there.
Second question is just a curiousity, I wornder if you are working for a
new version of that sotware or other similar.

[DL4MM:] No Problem, RUFZ 3.1 is running under Windows98, but for reliable
work RUFZ must be executed in pure WIN98-MS-DOS-Mode, not in the DOS-Box
I have the pleasure to test the RUFZ program and I can say congratulation.
I like it very much. I like CW and QRP. Now the propagation on 10 m is not
so good, so I choise RUFZ. Hoply in the near future with better results, I sand
here my last top result.

I have also some comments on the programme.
I whish there were more stations from EU one could listen. After
all they are the most active in real contests. So far I have not heard any
SP, LZ, LY, ON, YU, SM, S5. Now every time I hear SP in the beging of the call
I am sure it is HP, hi!
It would be more fun if the calls were the calls which are really active in the
contest + some more special calls. Now I dont know most of the calls, but after
some weeks of training I am sure I will start guessing the calls anyway. At least
I would suggest more normal callsigns. After all one memorize the callsigns so it
is the best to memorize the callsigns one would expect in the real contest.
So the program will also make you fit for the real thing, not only focus on QRQ CW.
I would suggest less HP and more SP, less 4K and more VK, less 5N and more SN.
Or maybe the random routine is not working properly. Seams like 5W, A22, A35, 5N,
5R, 4K are all very active!
[DL4MM:] Yes, I think there are really not too much EU calls inside, and especially the
mentioned number 4K and HP-calls should be reduced compared to VK and SP-calls.
I believe there are also a lot of very old and sometimes no longer existing calls.
Well known new calls should be added.
It is very difficult to get a very balanced call-database, opinions are
very different, what kind of calls should be inside.
And of course a frequent change of call-database would not be advantageous.
But I think, now after a quite long period of same calls it could be time to
modernize call-file. I'm thinking about how to do this and make new scores
comparable to the existing ones.

At least I managed to listen LA7MFA, hi, and I made a mistake in the number
(such a shame!).
[DL4MM:] Hi .. this makes RUFZ so exciting ..
After all nice program, but I whish it could be easier to correct the call while
listening, keybord is almost shut off during sending of the call. Using a DEL
key is a nightmare.
[DL4MM:] I'm not sure if you are using latest RUFZ-version 3.1.
With this version RUFZ shows typed characters while CW-output.
Additional you can change over between Insert and Overwrite-mode, and you can use
both DEL and BACK-key.

RUFZ is exactly like a good video game where the enemy ships come at you
faster and faster and the tension makes you want to jump out the window.
I didn't like it at first because I didn't realize what I was dealing
with, but now I'm addicted.
I really like the ease of use and the scorekeeping provides incentive to
keep coming back. The TopList on the web is a great incentive too.

hi to all of RUFZ folks. like you can see I was off for a long long
time, and now somehow I managed to get a computer, and to give a call to
you. I'm very soory for not participating in HST99. I saw in results
many, many nice and very high results, so congrats to all especialy
to RV9CPV and RX9CFO and offcourse to all golden RUFZers from italy.
I hope next time I will be able to participate and make the competition
more interesting than it was, altought it was full of new records.
I am still not ready to make new nice scores but soon I hope to be again
in the old, and maybe better shape. so that's about it for this time.

Thank you for such a great program. This is my 40th year as a Ham. I
started using CW in the Military in 1956 but we usually operated at about 18
wpm. I became very active again in the last 2 years and I am determined to
get my Extra Class this year! That means getting back up to 20 wpm. I try
to get on the air as much as possible using CW......but many operators just
send the minimum number of characters to confirm the contact and my speed
has been hanging around 15 wpm for about 3 months now. I have only used
your RUFZ program for about 2 days and 3 sessions and can really feel the
difference. I am back to typing characters 2 or 3 after they are sent and
this really helps. I didn't realize that I was concentrating too hard on
copying each character as soon as sent and missing the first part of the
next one!

When OH7JR posted his 46.8 k, I was devastated!
I was sure I would never reach that high ...
Well, now I did it! Anyhow, I think it's just the matter
of time before Tomi and Jami come up with some awesome numbers.

The reason I have so many tries is that I use RUFZ for straight CW practice.
It is very useful for that purpose, as most pressure is on the CW operator
when he is trying to get the other guy's call, and that is what I like to practise.

Congratulations on a fine program, I use it at least once every day and
it has helped me improve my CW copying skill.
The program is excellent, but I wish it would also indicate the average
and lowest copying speed.

Ich habe mir vor 3 Tagen aus dem Internet das Programm RUFZ 3.0 geholt.
Ich bin echt fasziniert von diesem Programm,man hat kaum
bzw. gar keine Zeit mal Luft zu holen,hi.
Da ich nur am Wochenende zu Hause bin und auf den KW-Baendern
CW machen kann, ist RUFZ ideal fuer mich, um die Woche ueber
im Training zu bleiben und das Tempo weiter zu steigern.
Mal sehen ob ich mich in der Topscore-Liste im laufe der Zeit noch
etwas voranhangeln kann, hi.

You need a country where you can not be on air so easy, a notebook with
RUFZ, two beers before and it leads to a improvement of your own
scoring... - for sure!

am... anyway my best result is next:
on the toplist is my 54k score, but i also have another one. i think it
is 57180 pts with speed of 462... that seems like a good speed and also
good sum for 15 years old ham...
well soon i hope there will be a toplist only for us youngsters which
will made RUFZ-ing more interesting to young hams. than we will see who
is the best from youngsters (hi)..

thank you for the soapbox message. so i decideed to drop you a line
because i'm under 16 years old. one month ago i became 15 year old boy,
and i'm a little bit better than n5nu (just abt 10k)
the suggestion is that maybe you and je1cka could make a special
list for youngsters but below 20 years old. that would be very
interesting stuff, not just for me, but to all young rufz-ers.
it is a bit crazy to deal with such a great guys like ha3ov, df4pa and others.
we are just too joung for that. so think about the suggestion and let me
know if you like it.
i'm sure that there are a lot of young people that like RUFZ but cannot
go to the top of the list.

well here I am...I'm 15 yrs old for abt 1 mounth...my date is 28th April
1983...
anyhow ... I must give you my new score made about 1 mounth ago...I sent
that score to 9a3uf but I think he didnt send it to you ... why? .. that
only God knows...anyhow now I have 35023 378 378 17 3598165...so I got
N5NU's speed...now I need points...main problem is that I was reciving RUFZ
last time hmmm mounth ago...and problem is that I removed SoundBlaster
because I put inside SCC card which I use for PR...and today's problem is
that I'm not in mood for putting phones connected to PCspeaker...well we
will see...

.. During my exercises, I reached one time a max speed of 290. So,
I work speed and I hope I will still improve my RUFZ 3.0 score soon. Looking
at the top of the list, I am really admirative in front of those very high
scores ... They are really Champions.

I really appreciate your program. It has really helped my abilty
to copy call signs for DX/contests. I've gone from 15 WPM to a top of about
40 WPM.

I have this week off from travel and work, so will spend some time
all week trying to up the score. Have been catching up on sleep and rest
so am doing much better. I think I can do the 525 again and possibly beat
the 100K mark. I'll be trying with great gusto this week. Thanks for an
exciting program and contest. It is a challenge.

Since I sent you my last score (20612 pts), I was very motivated
to improve. I train about half an hour every day and I use 3 differents
softwares. MSLCW (to improve the speed) ; Morse Academy (to improve my
mind memory) and PED (to train my mind in " confusing " environment).
When I feel ready, I make a test with RUFZ 3.0 .I don't know if it's a
good method but it seems to work as I again improved my high score and
my maximum receiving speed.
Here it is : Points : 23111 Max Speed : 312 Check Sum : 2452162
I still hope to improve as I feel I can do better. At this time, I make
confusions between H and 5; V and 4; B and 6.

Please find my last score at RUFZ 3.0. For information, during my
exercises, I realized 21472 points with a max speed of 337 (I am happy
about that) and a check sum of 2556385.
But here follow my top score at RUFZ 3.0 for the time being : Points :
26174 Max Speed : 297 Check Sum : 2478583
Thanks again for RUFZ, I enjoy each session. Even when I go to work, I
listen to cw. I recorded some cw on an audio cassette. If someone was beside
me, there is no doubt he think I am crazy....hi

After being in a slump, and doing no RUFZ for several weeks, I came
back with a bang. Had a few new high scores for me, including the above.

I had another work in progress when I got the stupid "Speed Alarm!"
message. Should I worry about that one? Tell HA3OV that his score is in
serious trouble. I have a vacation this next week and won't have the computer
with me to keep on working at it, but I'll take a small receiver and listen
for QRQ stations. I think I can get back to the 625 speed that I had on
the old program if I can catch two small calls back to back. :-) This is
fun.
Too bad I have to work for a living.

Hello! I am back on a question I sent you a mail about before. I
am trying to reach a specific speed level, that is I want to always be
able to catch a call sign at that speed. I would guess that I am not alone
in this. To see my progress I am interested not so much in the maximum
speed I reach each time but in the minimum one. I understand that there
are reasons for not putting the minimum speed in the result list - but
perhaps it would be possible to delay the change of screen at the end of
the run for 5 or 10 seconds to enable the user to read the screen with
the last data. As it is now, when I hear the didadidadit I look up but
the it is already too late to see my lowest speed. If I look during the
run I miss out on concentration.

VS6BG showed me this fascinating software in Beijing when we attended
the 10th IARU Region 3 Conference in September. Since moving from Hong
Kong to Tokyo, I have no opportunity to enjoy HF. So I asked him to send

<F2> to clear complete scorelist
<F8> sets up 999 attempts for each call
<F9> shows each call up to 999-times in the list

I forgot to mention what happened to me the first time I tried 3.0.
I was very near my max speed and got some horrible call starting with VP2M/. So
I hit F6, and it turned out to be my own old call--VP2M/KJ4VH!!!
What a terrible call sign--I couldn't even copy it myself!

I have RUFZ at work now, and am working a lot of overtime, but most of it
is spent sitting around waiting for things to happen - so I play RUFZ and
look at the OH2BUA Web Cluster and drool over what I'm missing :)
